This week on the podcast, I had the chance to speak with the lovely and captivating Michelle Martinez! Michelle is a single mom living in Florida. She feels like she is at a crossroads, with a clear vision for her family's future, but she doesn’t feel she can permit herself to go all in on what she intuitively wants.

Michelle is a jack-of-all-trades with career experience spanning multiple industries. But her career was often driven by a pattern of self-abandonment, where she prioritized making everyone else happy. Michelle explains why she believes she has a hard time making decisions because of her past employment and religious conditioning, specifically explaining that her conservative upbringing taught her the rhetoric to lean not on her own understanding, and that she was always told not to trust her own guidance. This has left her, for the first time, feeling like she has no direction. Michelle dreams of career autonomy, a flexible schedule to be there for her son, and a life and business that make her happy.

Michelle and I explore: 

• Why feeling imposter syndrome in your career may be masking a deeper-rooted belief about yourself. 
• How certain religious beliefs and conditioning can hold you back from trusting your inner guidance in life and career. 
• Why it is crucial to become the creator and to trust your intuition to guide your life and career decisions.
• That allowing yourself to accept the life that is already yours and let your intuition and higher power fill in the blanks.
• Why, instead of asking your higher power for direction, our souls and higher power are asking us what we want for life and career.  
• That we do not need permission from anyone or anything outside ourselves for confirmation to start living for ourselves. 
• Why your emotions are a signal from your intuition to reroute and bring your life back into intuitive flow. 

Listening to your inner guidance will allow you to step fully into a life and career that is aligned with who you are. I want you to remember this today: “You don't need permission from anyone; you can give yourself that permission.” No one may understand why you are choosing to live differently, but over time, if they love you, they will finally begin to see why you were being guided all along. Remember always to offer yourself compassion, and know that this is all part of the human experience: growing, evolving, and deepening our relationship with ourselves and the world around us.
